Jonah and Ben in Roger Williams Park – RI Children Photography

When Jonah and Ben’s mom approached me about doing a photo shoot of her sons she said that she would give me a million dollars if I could get one picture of the two boys together with both of them looking at the camera.  Challenge accepted!  Looks like I’m in line for a million dollars, Rebecca!  Make all checks payable to Melissa Lacouture.

This is something that a lot of Moms are concerned about.  I have yet to meet two kids that are faster than my trigger finger.  Be on the lookout for Ben and Jonah’s birthday shoot!  I’ll be doing that this weekend and blogging soon after.  These guys both have March birthdays like a certain photographer I know.  Me!  It’s also the month of my little baby, Max’s, birthday.  Obviously good things happen in March!

Jonah’s face cracks me up!

Tiny Shoot with Orion

I was so, so happy to meet Orion.  I don’t know if he felt the same.  I laugh really loud sometimes and I might have scared him once or twice.  Maybe I was a little too excited.  You see Orion’s Dad, Kevin, was one of my best bros when I was a senior in high school.  We both loved the same kind of music and had the same goof ball sense of humor.  We spent a lot of time making stickers in Kinko’s of things we cut out of the Providence Phoenix.  Since Kevin is a year younger than me he would later use those stickers to decorate the letters he sent to me while I was away at school in New York City.   Kevin impressed my cool and brainy roommates by writing William Blake quotes on the envelope next to these very silly stickers.  “Mock on, Mock on, Voltaire, Rousseau”…  I probably still have those letters in a Doc Marten shoe box somewhere.    Anyway, we were bros!  So how could I not be excited to see him again but only now with his lovely family.  Kevin is now an artist, a painter.  He married a very hip lady named Holly.  How can Orion not grow up to be the coolest little man with parents like this?

He looks a little nervous…  I must have been laughing.

Now this is a cool family, right?  Kevin’s face, Orion looks like he is serenading Holly.  I love it.

Orion is wearing a red FuzziBunz!  I love a baby in a cloth diaper.  They are cute AND eco friendly!  They will also save you a ton of money.  I know because I use them for my son, Max.  If you are thinking about making the switch to cloth do it!  You will not regret it.  Email me and I’ll give you some pointers to help get you started.

Tiny Shoot with Jackson and Carter

Here we have Jackson and Carter.  Jackson is the oldest.  Like my first baby Jackson was a great sleeper.  Then came Carter.  Like my second baby Carter isn’t so good at sleeping.  This has led to many a facebook conversation between Carter’s Mom and I.   Over the past 4 or 5 months we have been discussing sleep or should I say lack there of.  When it comes to babies we both lost the sleeping lottery.  Carter needs to thank his lucky stars that he is so cute.  That’s the only way he is able to get away with such torture.  Christy, I hope you can keep your eyes open long enough to see these pictures.  I’m surprised I have the wherewithal to even focus a camera never mind finish this blog post…  zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I just love Jackson in this picture!

I’m a sucker for a hat and beautiful eyes.

The serious shots…

Tiny Shoot with Cady and Avery

Up next for the tiny shoots is Cady and Avery!  When the girls came in they both sat on the floor.  I put myself in position and started snapping some pictures.  The first picture I took is the one on the left.  Very cute and candid moment of the two sisters holding the balloons.  When I look at that picture now I can literally see the wheels turning in Cady’s head.  She is thinking “When can I stop sitting here and just run?”  Notice the picture to the right is just Avery.  That’s because Cady didn’t waste much time.  She ran circles around all of us!  It’s really no surprise.  That’s what kids are supposed to do.

She was fast, but she is no match for me!  I still got her!

I love these!  How cute are her little pigtails bouncing around?
