I’ve been doing so many newborn sessions lately that I have to wonder what was going on nine months ago! I had the pleasure of meeting this family at their new home. They had moved in just a month before they added this new little guy to the family. That’s a lot of change in a short time but this family definitely has it together. I was shocked that they had just moved in when I saw the house. They are lucky to have Grandma who was there helping out with the two kids. It does take a village!
I love doing newborn sessions on location. It’s so much easier for the families since they don’t have to lug all that baby gear to my studio. It also makes the session a little more special since the pictures are taken at the house this little person is going to grow up in. Whenever I show up at a family’s house they always have blankets, hats and other special things that they’d like to incorporate into the photos. It is isn’t too often that I show up to a complete set! Mom and Dad surprised me with this beautiful nautical set up that matched the nursery decor. I was so excited! I wanted to steal that nice blue blanket, but I did control myself. It wasn’t easy!
These are the kind of portrait sessions I love! A session that includes the entire family! Mom, Dad, all the sisters, husbands, and four little boys PLUS two more babies on the way in December! It is isn’t often that people include everyone like this. I think it makes it so special. The location was also close to their hearts. We did the session on the cape where the family has a summer home. It was sunset so the lighting was gorgeous! The kids had a blast at the end of the session when we finally unleashed them into the water! I of course had to get right in there with them. It’s all in a days work!
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing these two little ladies for a couple of years now. Now when I see this family they will have an extra member in the crew! Welcome their little brother to the world! This guy is going to get a lot of attention from these girls. During the session there was a lot of discussion on who was holding him. He is definitely going to be loved! Maybe too much if that’s possible! Mom and Dad dressed him in some formal attire before it was time to get those naked little baby shots. I love a baby in a suit and tie!!
My first session in my new studio! So happy it was this little lady! She was all you could ask for as far as a newborn session goes. I think she would have sat in my studio for hours just looking out the window if we let her. Mom brought lots of cute outfits and her favorite stuffed animal made an appearance in the pictures.
