Birthday Portraits and Valentines

If you’ve been following me over the past 8 years you will recognize these cute faces!  I thought this was a suitable session to post the day before Valentine’s Day!  The first photos are of big sister.  She is a sparkplug to say the least!  I love taking her photos because of two reasons 1) she is comfortable around me and 2) she doesn’t like having me take her photos.  As funny as it sounds these two things are the perfect recipe for photos!  Since it’s all a big joke I get some great candids!  Second we have her brother who was born with a congenital heart defect.  He has had more surgeries in his first year than most adults will have in their entire lives.  It is actually CHD awareness week!  CHDs are the most common birth defect, affecting nearly 1% of all births in the U.S.  Most people are unaware of this.  I know I was!  More discussion will hopefully result in more research funding.  It has been a pleasure to see Silas and take his photos year after year.  He is truly a heart warrior.

Wild One Cake Smash Portrait

I absolutely love doing first year portraits!  Babies grow and change so much in that first year.  I think people forget what a big milestone it is for parents too.  It’s the end of the first year you’ve had with your new baby!  It’s year of learning and growing for you both.  It’s also most likely the first and last time in your child’s life that someone will set an adorable cake in front of them and say “Tear it apart!”.  Side note, most babies don’t smash the cake.  This little guy didn’t despite his wild one theme!  He was actually too busy trying to get into everything else at the studio BUT the cake!  Regardless of his speed we got the CUTEST photos of him!  Thank you, Bake.Eat.Love, for the amazing cake!

Cake Smash Portrait – RI Photographer

I had the pleasure of taking this cutie pie’s newborn photos and now she is a year old!  Mom did a great job picking out some cute little outfits for her big birthday session.  I don’t think this could have gone any better – so many smiles!  Ok there were some tears at the end…  BUT what’s cuter than a picture of a baby crying over cake?  As always a big thank you from Lauren at Cake-tique for making the smash cake!

Newborn Session at the Studio

I just love newborn sessions!  The average person doesn’t get to be up close and personal with a brand new baby as much as I do.  It really is a job perk!  Newborns are just so precious and so tiny!  I love being able to hold them, smell them, inspect their little hands fingers and toes.  This little guy was beyond adorable!  His parents brought him so many cute hats!  I just love the family pics from this session.  Love!!

Sisters Portrait at the Studio – RI Children Portrait Photography

These little ladies came in for their first mini shoot last year.  Now they are ready for the big time – A full blown portrait session!  These girls are full of energy.  So much energy that I’m sure Mom and Dad were wondering if I got any good photos of them!  Thankfully my camera is faster than most children so it doesn’t miss that ten second moment where everyone was sitting nicely.  I love the dresses Mom picked out for these girls!  So feminine and cute!  Can’t wait to see you guys again!
