This little guy is so cute! I mean really just so so cute! I did his cake smash session last year when he turned a year old. He stood up for the first time right in front of my camera! Now here he is a year later, running all over the place, showing me his train collection. It never ceases to amaze me how much can change in just one year. Another thing that never changes is how truly honored that people let me capture the growth of their little ones year after year.
You really can’t beat the beach for photos. The secret is to do it at the right time of day when the sun is all yellow and “glowy”! Ok the sun is always yellow and “glowy” but if you want nice portraits you have to get the timing right. We had it down for this portrait in Newport! Korey is the kind of little girl you envision when one imagines a portrait on the beach. Mom and Dad picked out the perfect dress and even brought a pretty shell for a prop. Let’s not forget to mention the hair! A big shout out to Mom for maintaining that long beautiful hair! I have a daughter and know what it’s like to brush a little girl’s hair… It’s not fun. Not only was Korey’s hair perfect but she also had the cutest starfish barrette in the back. My favorite part of the session was at the end when Korey (and myself) got right in the ocean to take some of the best photos of the day!
Roger Williams Park is such a great spot for photos! So many options and different spots for photos. When we showed up there was an event in the spot we picked first. Thankfully the park is massive and I know it like the back of my hand. We even got to utilize my secret spot where the light is always amazing! When we first started the planning process Liam wasn’t walking yet, but that sure changed! He was determined to walk all over the park which isn’t easy on uneven ground. Thankfully we had his family close by to catch him when he got a little wobbly. Liam is a year old so it was a cake smash session! As always Lauren at Cake-tique made our smash cake and this guy couldn’t have been any happier about digging into it!
I met Brooklyn last year at War Memorial Park, a place that has now become one of my favorite spots for photos! This year I had the pleasure of visiting Brook at her house! Lucky girl lives right next door to a horse barn! She is two and a half and already taking horse riding lessons. Since she loves her horsey neighbors mom and dad thought it would be nice to incorporate them into the session! Brooklyn has changed so much in the past year but one thing has stayed the same… her insane cuteness! She is a doll!! So happy that these guys found me and continue to use me to document the family!
Every year I have the pleasure of going to this family’s house for a portrait session. The first portrait I did for these guys was a maternity session when little brother was still cooking inside Mama’s belly. Time has obviously passed and these guys are getting so big now! Every year the session goes like this… The boys run and play while I chase them and trick them into posing for photos. Mom and I have to use the same tactics on Dad! We have a formula now and it works!
