Some senior portrait sessions just come together perfectly, and Lilly’s session in East Greenwich was definitely one of those.

We photographed her senior portraits at a couple of little “secret” beach spots near her dad’s house, which gave us a beautiful Rhode Island backdrop without feeling like we were at a typical beach location. And then the sky decided to show off. We had the most gorgeous cotton candy-colored sunset and beautiful soft light that made everything feel a little magical.

A Natural in Front of the Camera

Lilly was an absolute natural. She was comfortable in front of the camera from the beginning, which made it so easy to capture a mix of beautiful portraits and more natural, candid moments.

That is always my goal with senior photography. I want the photos to look polished and beautiful, but I also want them to actually feel like the person I’m photographing. Lilly made that part easy.

Senior Photos with a Little Rhode Island Magic

One of my favorite things about photographing seniors in Rhode Island is finding locations that feel personal to them. You don’t necessarily need a famous landmark or a popular photo location to create incredible senior portraits.

These little beaches near her dad’s house gave us everything we needed—water, shoreline, gorgeous evening light, and a location that had meaning to her family.

And then we got that cotton candy sky.

The combination of the pastel sunset, soft light, and water made for some of my favorite images from the session.
