Gabriella’s Newborn Session – RI Newborn Photography

I had the absolute pleasure of taking Melanie’s maternity photos just a couple of weeks ago. Now it is an even greater pleasure to present to you their little girl, Gabriella! She was a week old when we took these photos. Her birth weight was 6lbs and 2ozs! Such a little peanut! As usual newborn clothes were a little too big so we did most of the pics in her birthday suit. Maybe there was some messy incidents, but I won’t go into detail… Don’t want to embarrass the poor little girl! She definitely wins the prize for holding her feet still. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of those cute piggies! The session was a success and we even got a smile!

Fiona’s First Birthday Cake Smash – RI Baby Photography

One year old’s are hard to catch and Fiona was no exception to that rule. What is it about stairs that attracts babies so much?! I will never know the answer. Thankfully we had a beautiful cake baked by Lauren at Cake-tique to keep Fiona occupied. She wore the cutest outfit ever that was made by Mommy! Anyone need a cute birthday ensemble? Let me know and I will put you in touch with this talented lady!

Miles’s Newborn Photo Session – RI Newborn Photography

I love that my job gives me the opportunity to meet new families. Last week I drove all the way to a cute little town right outside of Boston to meet this one. Miles had his newborn shoot on his one week birthday. He is a lucky guy for many reasons. Number 1 – He is adorable. Number 2 – So are his mom and dad. Number 3 – Mom and Dad have amazing taste and style (I would take all their furniture and happily put it in my house). Miles has the coolest alphabet wall in his nursery! I loved it! His parents also had the foresight to buy a house with great lighting.  And let’s not forget the nice blankets that made for some great photo accessories.  All these pretty things made my job way too easy!

Elena’s Newborn Session with Big Sister, Alyssa – RI Baby Photography

It isn’t very often that you walk in a house for your portrait session and get a hug from one of your subjects.  This is actually the first time it’s happened and I will tell you it was a nice way to start!  After Alyssa gave me my hug she told me all about her grandparents, asked me about my cameras, showed me her room and wanted to know what kind of stuff I had at my house.  I’m going to guess that Alyssa doesn’t have much trouble making new friends.  We were buds after a couple of minutes.  Her new sister, Elena, was much less talkative but just as adorable.  She was only a week and a half old when we took these photos.  So precious!

While Mommy nursed little Elena to get her all happy and content for photos I went outside to take some pictures of her big sister.

Yeah, we didn’t have fun or anything…

The elusive toddler and newborn picture is usually really hard, but Alyssa made this the easiest one yet. She did such a great job!

This photo makes me laugh so much! There is so much personality. I’ve been trying to imagine what the girls will say in 20 years when they look at this picture.

Melanie and Mike’s Maternity Shoot in Newport, RI – RI Maternity Photography

I love maternity sessions!  It’s one of those sessions that you didn’t know you wanted until after the baby is born.  Thankfully Melanie and Mike knew they wanted to capture this short time in their lives before it was too late.  You are only pregnant for 9 months.  It seems like forever when you are going through it, but it really isn’t a long time.  I think a maternity session is about the soon to be parents.  This is a time of excitement and anticipation.  Newport has been a big part of Melanie and Mike’s relationship.  They had their engagement photos taken there, the wedding took place there so what better spot for their maternity shoot?  Melanie has been doing a pregnancy exercise boot camp.   I’m truly impressed with this since when I was pregnant the most I did was walk across the house.  Her trainer gave her a pair of sneakers for their new little girl.  I’m so happy she thought to bring them to our session.  It’s a great way to remember the time before the baby and everything that happened leading up to this amazing moment…
