Mile’s Cake Smash Portrait – RI Cake Smash Photography

Whenever I do a cake smash parents get a little thrown off by the name. Babies rarely ever actually “smash” the cake. I always reassure them that what their baby is doing is normal. Sometimes they just play with it and get really mad when the frosting is stuck to their hands. Sometimes they actually sit quietly and eat it! But Smash?! Nope. I used to say that no baby has ever smashed the cake. Now I have to change that sentence to “except that one”… I met Miles when he was just a newborn. I had the pleasure of going to his house and taking photos when he was just born. Now we meet again, one year later! He has grown up to the a sweet little man. We had a great time taking photos and Miles has an amazing time destroying his cake made by Cake-tique.  He will probably never throw cake like that again for the rest of his life so I’m happy I was there to capture it!  Happy Birthday, Miles!!

Brothers’ Newborn Session – RI Newborn Photography

“Hello, I’d like to do a newborn session with my new baby and his two brothers. They are 2 and 4”. Oh boy! Impossible you say? No. It is not. The fact that the two older boys were Koda and Kian definitely made a difference. I’ve taken photos of these boys a bunch of times now. They are always the cutest! The way they interact with each other is beyond adorable. Their new little brother has some big shoes to fill. Mom brought so many fun things to use for props. My fave is the most perfect tonka truck! It was made for putting a newborn in the back. Love it!

Tyler’s First Birthday Cake Smash

Tyler is one year old!  What a fun and special birthday it is!  His Grandmother and Mom were on hand for the photos and you can see that this little guy gets all the love he needs from these ladies.  I had so much fun chatting with them that I almost forgot to take photos!  They brought the cutest cake smash outfit for him – a little hat, tie and diaper cover with a chevron print (my new fave pattern!).  I’m so happy that people are putting out some cute stuff for boys to wear at these!  Why should girls have all the fun?  Tyler decided to give us a show stopper at the end of the session.  He stood up without any help for the first time ever right in my studio!!  Unfortunately I didn’t document it the first time because I was not ready.  Thankfully he gave us an encore and I got it!!  Such a treat that I was able to capture that moment for his family.

Big Sis and Little Brother Newborn Session at the Studio – RI Newborn Photography

There is something about the winter when it comes to this family.  Big sister, Mackenzie, was born pretty much in a blizzard.  Her little brother arrived a week before Christmas.  Seeing that these babies like to make a grand entrance in the winter it seemed fitting to use my mini shoot set one last time for these guys.  It was the perfect way to say good bye to the set.  These guys aren’t just any old clients.  Baby Grayson is actually the newest member of my family!  I was so excited to meet him!  It was truly an honor to take his newborn pics for Mom and Dad as I did for Kenzie three years ago.  Maybe I’m biased, but Grayson is super adorable!  I think it’s a more of a fact than an opinion.  Welcome to the family, Grayson!!

Baby Girl Newborn Session – RI Newborn Photography

Let’s go back a couple of weeks to Christmas time!  The plan was that this little lady was going to be arriving some time after Christmas. Mom and Dad had their Christmas cards printed with photos of their two boys, Mommy’s belly along with a holiday greeting that included info about a little baby girl who would be arriving soon. Well, Samantha must have caught wind of this and decided to put a wrench in that plan. She made her debut before the cards went out so Mom decided to include a “Christmas Card Addendum” if you will with the photos we took.  Samantha’s little brothers were on hand for the session.  They were adorable with their sister.  From the looks of it she is going to have two protective older brothers to deal with.
