Gabriella’s First Birthday Cake Smash – RI Cake Smash Photography

I just can’t believe all my babies are getting so big!!  Well maybe Gabriella and the other kids I photograph aren’t necessarily my kids.  Even though it’s such a treat to be able to see all my little people grow up.  When I first met Gabriella she was in her Mommy’s belly when I had the pleasure of doing a maternity shoot with her parents.  From there we did a newborn session at my studio.  Now a year later here we are doing a first birthday cake smash!  Cake-tique provided us with the cake as always.  Mom and Dad also brought so many great props that were going to double as birthday party decorations!  I couldn’t have been happier!   They made the cutest lemonade stand for her.  Not only that they brought lemons and lots of fun stuff to dress up my set.  Cake Smash success!!

Breakfast at Tiffany’s Portrait Session – RI Cake Smash Photography

For a first birthday I think you should really celebrate! It’s THE first birthday ever!! It’s a big deal in my opinion. Aurora’s Mom shares this sentiment.  They are throwing Aurora a glamorous Breakfast at Tiffany’s birthday party!  How amazing is that?  Thankfully she brought lots of the things they have to decorate the party.  We were able to use everything to make a fabulous little set for Aurora to shine in!  When we finished with the glamour I switched over to the delicate little Spring Mini Shoot set I have at the studio now for a cake smash with cake made as always by Lauren at Cake-tique!  Such a treat for me to be able to help Mom’s vision come to life!

Mile’s Cake Smash Portrait – RI Cake Smash Photography

Whenever I do a cake smash parents get a little thrown off by the name. Babies rarely ever actually “smash” the cake. I always reassure them that what their baby is doing is normal. Sometimes they just play with it and get really mad when the frosting is stuck to their hands. Sometimes they actually sit quietly and eat it! But Smash?! Nope. I used to say that no baby has ever smashed the cake. Now I have to change that sentence to “except that one”… I met Miles when he was just a newborn. I had the pleasure of going to his house and taking photos when he was just born. Now we meet again, one year later! He has grown up to the a sweet little man. We had a great time taking photos and Miles has an amazing time destroying his cake made by Cake-tique.  He will probably never throw cake like that again for the rest of his life so I’m happy I was there to capture it!  Happy Birthday, Miles!!

Cake Smash Portrait Session with Matthew – RI Baby Photography

What a fun cake smash session this was!  Matthew was a professional.  He systematically picked at all the frosting of his cake made by none other than Cake-Tique!  Matthew loves balloons so there were plenty for him to crawl around in.  He was loving it!  Thankfully he paid more attention to the cake than the balloons once we brought it out.  Another successfully first birthday portrait!

Brothers’ Newborn Session – RI Newborn Photography

“Hello, I’d like to do a newborn session with my new baby and his two brothers. They are 2 and 4”. Oh boy! Impossible you say? No. It is not. The fact that the two older boys were Koda and Kian definitely made a difference. I’ve taken photos of these boys a bunch of times now. They are always the cutest! The way they interact with each other is beyond adorable. Their new little brother has some big shoes to fill. Mom brought so many fun things to use for props. My fave is the most perfect tonka truck! It was made for putting a newborn in the back. Love it!
