Family Portrait Photography in Rhode Island

This portrait session has been a long time in the making!  Mom contacted me around Thanksgiving.  She had a vision of a family portrait in a rural setting with fun farm style fences.  We put our heads together and came up with some different locations.  Unfortunately we were missing the fences.  One day she found the perfect location with the fences we had been dreaming of.  It was on private property but that didn’t stop her!  She asked permission to do photos on the land and viola!  Here we are after some weather cancellations and lots of planning!   I know how excited everyone was to do these photos and how much research/planning went into this.  Thanks for having me help make the vision a reality!

Brother and Sister Birthday Portrait Session

I first met Alex when he was three months old. We did photos in this exact same location. He was a little lump in his parents’ arms. Three years later here we are again for his third birthday portraits! Now he is running around, talking, and holding my hand (melted my heart!). Yes, Alex did grow up a bit, but there is one other big change that has happened. He now has a little sister who is just turning one year old!  I say it all the time because it really is my favorite part of my job…  What an honor it is to be able to capture these photos of a family that is growing (in years and quantity).  It really is something that means a lot to me and I can’t say thank you enough.  I know mom and dad once mentioned that they’d like to have four kids!  If that still is the plan we will have to come back to this spot with the entire clan when they get here!

Miles’s Newborn Photo Session – RI Newborn Photography

I love that my job gives me the opportunity to meet new families. Last week I drove all the way to a cute little town right outside of Boston to meet this one. Miles had his newborn shoot on his one week birthday. He is a lucky guy for many reasons. Number 1 – He is adorable. Number 2 – So are his mom and dad. Number 3 – Mom and Dad have amazing taste and style (I would take all their furniture and happily put it in my house). Miles has the coolest alphabet wall in his nursery! I loved it! His parents also had the foresight to buy a house with great lighting.  And let’s not forget the nice blankets that made for some great photo accessories.  All these pretty things made my job way too easy!

Elena’s Newborn Session with Big Sister, Alyssa – RI Baby Photography

It isn’t very often that you walk in a house for your portrait session and get a hug from one of your subjects.  This is actually the first time it’s happened and I will tell you it was a nice way to start!  After Alyssa gave me my hug she told me all about her grandparents, asked me about my cameras, showed me her room and wanted to know what kind of stuff I had at my house.  I’m going to guess that Alyssa doesn’t have much trouble making new friends.  We were buds after a couple of minutes.  Her new sister, Elena, was much less talkative but just as adorable.  She was only a week and a half old when we took these photos.  So precious!

While Mommy nursed little Elena to get her all happy and content for photos I went outside to take some pictures of her big sister.

Yeah, we didn’t have fun or anything…

The elusive toddler and newborn picture is usually really hard, but Alyssa made this the easiest one yet. She did such a great job!

This photo makes me laugh so much! There is so much personality. I’ve been trying to imagine what the girls will say in 20 years when they look at this picture.

Fall Family Portrait in Roger Williams Park – RI Family Portrait Photography

The fall is a great time of year for photos. I guess that’s stating the obvious. Even though I’ve done portraits in the fall many times every year I’m so inspired once I get out there and start snapping. It also helps when you have such a good looking family! These boys are beyond handsome! I met Eli when he was the one and only baby. Now he is a big brother! Love watching families grow and the babies grow up. One of the best parts of my job!
