It may not feel like it but the warm weather is around the corner! I can’t wait to get back to the beach for fun and for photos! I absolutely love doing family portraits in the Ocean State. We have so many beautiful spots in this little state. Here is a portrait session I did in Narragansett last summer. One of my faves from last year!
I absolutely love doing first year portraits! Babies grow and change so much in that first year. I think people forget what a big milestone it is for parents too. It’s the end of the first year you’ve had with your new baby! It’s year of learning and growing for you both. It’s also most likely the first and last time in your child’s life that someone will set an adorable cake in front of them and say “Tear it apart!”. Side note, most babies don’t smash the cake. This little guy didn’t despite his wild one theme! He was actually too busy trying to get into everything else at the studio BUT the cake! Regardless of his speed we got the CUTEST photos of him! I always like to talk about how long I’ve been taking photos of certain families. I might sound like a broken record some times but it really means so much. I have a special place in my heart for my repeat clients. They trust me, believe in my abilities and that means so much. I have been doing photos of big sis since her first birthday. She always likes to bring a prop to her yearly photos. It started with dolls and her puppies but more recently it’s her little brother and now horses! Looks like we have upgraded! I can’t wait to see what they bring next year!
I have been taking photos of these little guys and his family for about five years now so it was truly a treat to meet the rest of the clan! These little boys have grown up in front of my lens! There are a couple of things I love… First is extended family portraits. It is so nice when people take the time to do photos like this. Family is a wonderful thing that deserves a little time to shine no matter what age we all are. The second thing I love is photos at the beach! Some people say “everyone does the beach” but there is a reason for that… It’s gorgeous! Nothing compares to beautiful lighting and the ocean.
I wanted to share one of my favorite sessions from last year featuring some of my favorite people! I have known this family for almost 10 years now. The oldest is one of my daughter’s best friends ever. I can say the same for myself and their mom! Every year we do a portrait and every year the goal is top last year’s. It’s getting a little harder since we keep knocking it out of the park! This year we did the session at J.L.M. Equestrian where Ava takes horse riding lessons. I really don’t know how we are going to top this session, but I know we will! Stay tuned!
