Avery’s First Birthday Cake Smash Part Two – RI Baby Photographer

Part two of Avery’s first year portrait!

The Cake Smash portrait is the new thing to do when your little baby turns a year old.  As a photographer I think it is really fun!  You just don’t know what’s going to happen!  Is the baby going to like it?  Are they going to even know what’s in front of them or worse yet will they care?  Basically you put the cake in place and hope for the best!  At first Avery was more interested in the shredded paper I had put down…

Contemplating this new little pink thing that has appeared…

Didn’t take her long to figure out what to do with it!

And she is happy she did!

Avery’s big sister, Cady, watched her sister enjoy her cupcake.  She had to be held back a little bit.  Didn’t want to miss all the fun!  Thankfully her Mommy and Daddy brought a second cupcake so Cady could have a treat after Avery’s “smash” was done.

Avery’s First Bee Day Portrait Part 1 – RI Baby Photography

I am seriously having some major problems editing photos for this blog!  I just want to put them all up!  Honestly when you get a little girl like Avery in front of your camera who is giving you cuteness and then more cuteness… Well, you can see how I’m having a problem.  So I’ve decided to dedicate two posts to her first year photo shoot.  First post is all about her adorable birthday outfit.  Her mom bought it on Etsy, of course.  Etsy is a dangerous site because there is so much cute stuff on it but you should still check it out.  Click here to go to the store she bought it from.  As you can see it says “It’s my 1st Bee Day” on her onesie.  Pretty darn cute, but not as cute as Avery!  As I was editing the pictures I kept yelling out things like “Seriously!” or “Shut Up!” (that means I think she looked really cute in the picture).  So, now it’s time for you to yell out because when you see how cute she is you won’t be able to control yourself!

Be on the lookout for part 2…  The cake smash!

Alexander’s First Birthday Portrait Part Two – RI Baby Photographer

Today is officially Alexander’s first birthday!  What better time to post the second half of his first birthday pictures?!  We pretty much scheduled this portrait around whether or not these daffodils had bloomed.  My father in law is a professor at Salve Regina.  He was on daffodil lookout for us!  A big thanks to him because we might have missed out on this awesome location!

I’ve done some engagement pictures in this same spot, but really this location was made for a little baby!  Adults are just too big to get the full effect.

Time for some sweets!  Alex was more interested in the candle at first…

obviously that didnt’ last long.

His mind is blown!

Alexander’s First Year Portrait in Newport Part 1- RI Baby Photography

Alexander is turning a year old any day now!  The first year goes by so fast!  I am always honoured to do newborn shoots and first year portraits.  I think they are such special times for the parents.  Alex’s parents were married in Newport so what better spot to do his first year portrait. At first I had a different spot on the beach in mind.  Just on a whim I decided to drive up the road to see if there was anything that caught my eye.  I saw this boardwalk and it was a done deal!  I’m so happy I spotted it!  Michelle, I hope these pictures are worth the splinters and sand we had to battle!

Stayed tuned for Part Two of Alex’s birthday portrait extravaganza!!

“Life for you, my prince, has just begun”

A little more than a year ago I was pregnant with my second baby.  We already had our little girl, Zoe, so my husband and I were wishing for a boy.  Our wish came true.  The past year has been a crazy roller coaster ride.  Between juggling two kids and the craziness Max brings to our family we have our hands full.  He doesn’t sleep very good at night.  He bites us.  He hits us.  He gets into everything he shouldn’t.  We called him Mad Max when he was born and he has lived up to the name.  Lucky for him he performs all his mischievous deeds with a the most precious little smile on his face!  You just can’t help but be madly in love with him!

Every year around their birthdays I take a simple portrait of my kids.  Here is Max’s first one with many more to come!  Happy Birthday, Max!
