Baby Caleb Newborn Portrait Session – RI Newborn Photography

Over the years there has been an explosion of trends and fads in newborn photography.  I’m not saying that I’m above the trends.  Some are fun and very cute, but for me nothing compares to simple newborn photos.  That’s why I especially love these photos of Caleb.  They are all about Caleb and his little hands, feet, face and bum.  Caleb is a beautiful little boy!  I think he is made to model.  He gave me so many facial expressions that I couldn’t narrow it down for this post!

He really is working it!

Lulu is not too keen on this.  It should be all about her!

I love these pictures!  Simple and beautiful.

engagement to wedding to maternity shoot!  I’ve done them all for Mike and Meredith.  Now I get to take pictures of their new baby!  It is an honor to be there for all these big moments.

Kian’s Cake Smash With Big Brother Koda – Bristol, RI

We had to reschedule the first and second time we planned this shoot.  The only problem was the second time we rescheduled it was last minute.  I already picked up the cake for the smash from Lauren at Cake-tique.  Then the rain came!  Ugh!  Thankfully with this being RI the rain left as quickly as it came.  We were able to do the portrait without having to order a new cake!  These boys are as sweet as they are handsome.  They were so easy to work with.  With a little help from Mommy, Daddy and an occasional M&M (you have to do what you have to do) I got so many good shots that I had trouble picking for the blog.  Good luck to Mom and Dad when the time comes to print pictures!  It’s going to be tough.

Such a nice family!  I was so happy to meet them.

How cute is he?

Love this one of the brothers.

I love doing on location cake smashes.

I love the next two pictures so much I couldn’t choose.  That is one adorable little man…

Cutest cake smash pictures ever?

Stella’s Maternity and Family Portrait at Harkness State Park, CT

I couldn’t have been happier when Stella contacted me about doing a maternity/family portrait for her.  I shot Stella and Shane’s wedding at the Eolia Mansion at Harkness State Park in CT.  It is such a beautiful spot and one of my favorite wedding venues.  We decided that it would be the perfect spot for these new updated family pictures. Their daughter, Madison, is going to be 2 years old very soon.  She is just the sweetest thing!  I’m sure her parents had something to do with that.  They are the nicest people you could ever meet.

Three years ago I took a bridal portrait of Stella in this exact same spot.  Now we are onto the next phase in life.  So fun!

They haven’t found out the sex of the baby yet, but we are certain that someone is going to be a big sister!

Baby Roman – RI Newborn Photography

A couple of weeks back I did a maternity shoot with the beautiful Aisha and handsome hubs, Dave.  At the shoot we had a chat about how Aisha was a little nervous that the baby might come late.  Apparently Dave and Aisha are late for everything so it only makes sense that their offspring would follow suit.  Baby Roman decided to start rebelling sooner than later.  He made his entrance two weeks early.  I guess he wanted to be home for Christmas!  Roman is a perfect mix of his mom and dad.  Such a handsome little man!  He was very cooperative with us and our crazy ideas.  I actually think we might have been boring him because he could hardly keep his eyes open.

Chillin’

I love this one!

Usually I hate to see wrinkles (mainly mine), but in this case they are adorable!

Stretching…

Aisha bought some cute little knitted accessories.  I love this sleep sac!

My favorite foot photo ever

It’s hard being 2 weeks old.

This antique barber chair was Dave’s father’s.

2011 Rewind :: Family Portraits – RI Family Portrait Photography

Although I’ve been doing wedding photography for coming up on 9 years this portrait “branch” of my business only started in October 2010.  I will give you some background…  In September of 2009 I sent out an email to my closest friends and family explaining that I wanted to do a family portrait day.  I told them I would be in Roger Williams park for a certain amount of time and that they could pick a time to come for… say 20 minutes or so to get a nice portrait of the family.  Did I mention that I was offering to do this for free?  Photos are so important to me so I wanted to make sure that the people closest to me had some nice ones of their loved ones.  Only one person did it (thanks, Marisa!).  Then in September of last year I thought “I’m going to try to do a family portrait day again, but this time I will post it on Facebook and actually charge money.”  My husband said when I came up with the idea he thought “It’s going to be so sad if no one does it again”.  My family portrait day turned into three days, I booked 20 people, and 99% of those people have been repeat customers or referred future clients to me.  I would say my business started there.

In the past year I’ve met so many great people and made new friends.  I never would have dreamed year ago that I’d have a web site, a studio, and so many wonderful clients.  2012 is going to be a really exciting year for me.  I can’t wait to start on the plans that I have.  Before all that happens I thought we should take a stroll down memory lane and leave 2011 with a bang!  Here are some of my favorite family portraits that I’ve taken over the past year, definitely not all of them but a nice mix.  Enjoy the family love!  Next up will be newborns…
