Logan’s Four Year Portrait

One of my most photographed kids and best buddy, Logan, is four years old this year! It’s always a treat for me to see Logan and her parents. I would love to just chat with Mom and Dad, but honestly Logan and I are kind of best friends. While Mom and Dad hang back Logan and I walk around, chat, make each other laugh and take pictures. It’s almost like a play date! Recently Logan told her Mom “Only Alissa takes my picture”. Coming for a little kid that is a 5 star review! We started Logan’s portrait at my studio and then walking around the building. Logan’s Dad is an artist who also has a spot in Hope Artiste Village so we even got to take some pics in there. Sorry other parents! You can not have your photo session in Michael’s place amongst the metal, tools and fork lift!

Logan is has the best time when we take pictures. She scares me, I scream, she laughs. It’s a formula we had this year for her mini and portrait session. I have to say it worked beautifully! In addition to scaring me Logan was also having the best time throwing leaves in the air. Perfect fall portrait accessory! I always look forward to seeing Logan and her family. I probably spend as much time chatting with Mom as I do taking photos. Hanging out with cool families is reason #453 why I love my job. Thanks for choosing me to take your photos, guys!

I love these photos because I love this family! Ada is my kids’ bud. There was a time when all my son said was “Ada hit me” (even though she didn’t). There was also a time when Ada always talking about the time my son, Max, gave her way too aggressive of a hug (which did happen). Mandy is an amazingly talented graphic designer. She does all the design work for my wedding photography business called M.Studios and does amazing letterpress wedding invitations and birth announcments. Check out her web site or etsy shop! I had the pleasure of meeting this family a couple of years ago at one of my mini shoots. These kids were adorable back then and they are even cuter now. I remember loving Mac’s hair at the mini. I was so happy that he was still rockin’ the do. I am a sucker for little boys with longer styled hair. It’s always the cutest. We had a great time taking photos at Colt State Park. Avery was the queen the poses. If her clothes came in my size I would have asked her where she bought them and gone to get the same outfit for myself. Autumn leaves, great light and great people can only equal a successful family portrait session.

When I started doing photos for this family there were only two girls. Magically a third one appeared (you can ask your Mommy and Daddy how that happens) and my job got harder! These girls are the sweetest things. They are active little ladies for sure. Always jumping and running around. Before we started I was thinking of all the things I could do to make them all sit and actually look at me at the same moment. Obviously time goes by and the girls were bigger than last year (duh). Maybe they are more mature, maybe the stars were aligned for perfect photos. Whatever it was the girls were amazing! We got lots of great photos. Everyone looked at the camera… Mission accomplished!
