Baby Girl Newborn Session – RI Newborn Photography

Let’s go back a couple of weeks to Christmas time!  The plan was that this little lady was going to be arriving some time after Christmas. Mom and Dad had their Christmas cards printed with photos of their two boys, Mommy’s belly along with a holiday greeting that included info about a little baby girl who would be arriving soon. Well, Samantha must have caught wind of this and decided to put a wrench in that plan. She made her debut before the cards went out so Mom decided to include a “Christmas Card Addendum” if you will with the photos we took.  Samantha’s little brothers were on hand for the session.  They were adorable with their sister.  From the looks of it she is going to have two protective older brothers to deal with.

Newborn Portrait Session – RI Newborn Photography

A little over a month ago I had the pleasure of doing a portrait for this family.  Since then things have changed a lot!  They welcomed their new daughter, Elle, to the family!  She is a month old and as cute as a button.  We took lots of photos and when it was time to eat I hung out with her big brother in his room taking even more photos.  Ryan is an active little guy (what two year old isn’t) so I was very happy to get photos of him and his new sister.  Congrats to the family and have a wonderful holiday season with your new addition!

Miles’s Newborn Photo Session – RI Newborn Photography

I love that my job gives me the opportunity to meet new families. Last week I drove all the way to a cute little town right outside of Boston to meet this one. Miles had his newborn shoot on his one week birthday. He is a lucky guy for many reasons. Number 1 – He is adorable. Number 2 – So are his mom and dad. Number 3 – Mom and Dad have amazing taste and style (I would take all their furniture and happily put it in my house). Miles has the coolest alphabet wall in his nursery! I loved it! His parents also had the foresight to buy a house with great lighting.  And let’s not forget the nice blankets that made for some great photo accessories.  All these pretty things made my job way too easy!

Elena’s Newborn Session with Big Sister, Alyssa – RI Baby Photography

It isn’t very often that you walk in a house for your portrait session and get a hug from one of your subjects.  This is actually the first time it’s happened and I will tell you it was a nice way to start!  After Alyssa gave me my hug she told me all about her grandparents, asked me about my cameras, showed me her room and wanted to know what kind of stuff I had at my house.  I’m going to guess that Alyssa doesn’t have much trouble making new friends.  We were buds after a couple of minutes.  Her new sister, Elena, was much less talkative but just as adorable.  She was only a week and a half old when we took these photos.  So precious!

While Mommy nursed little Elena to get her all happy and content for photos I went outside to take some pictures of her big sister.

Yeah, we didn’t have fun or anything…

The elusive toddler and newborn picture is usually really hard, but Alyssa made this the easiest one yet. She did such a great job!

This photo makes me laugh so much! There is so much personality. I’ve been trying to imagine what the girls will say in 20 years when they look at this picture.

Harper’s Newborn Portrait Session – RI Newborn Photography

I was very excited when I read the email I got from Harper’s mom. Harper’s parents love music and they thought it would be cool to incorporate records into the shoot for their newborn baby. I was sold at records. We listen to records with my kids all the time. My daughter could work our record player before she could turn on the TV or use the DVD player. So when I read the email I knew that these people were kindred spirits which made me very excited to take these pictures.  Thankfully Harper was pretty content to lay on some vinyl while I snapped away.

I promised my husband that I just brought his Black Sabbath record, but I didn’t use it for the shoot. He was worried I scratched it all up. And there it is displayed prominently in all the pictures. Whoops!!

I love this one!

Big brother, Jack, was reluctant to take some pictures, but we got him in front of the camera. So happy he agreed to it because I love these pictures on him holding his new sister.
