Newport Beach Family Portrait – RI Family Portrait Photography

There is nothing that stresses me out more than a portrait session with these guys.  Don’t get me wrong!  They aren’t pains.  They aren’t demanding.  I just love them all so which puts added pressure on me because I want to do the best job ever!  Mommy is a dear friend and these girls have become two of the best friends ever to my kids.  My daughter, Zoe, and Ava have loved each other since they met in Gymboree class when they were almost two years old.  They have done so much for me and my family and this is why when it’s time to do photos I personally want to knock it out of the park.  Now that Christmas cards are out and gifts have been given I can finally share this session with you!  It may be cold outside but we will be at the beach again in a couple of months!  Until then warm up with these pics and remember… summer is almost here (I swear!!).

Melanie and Mike’s Maternity Shoot in Newport, RI – RI Maternity Photography

I love maternity sessions!  It’s one of those sessions that you didn’t know you wanted until after the baby is born.  Thankfully Melanie and Mike knew they wanted to capture this short time in their lives before it was too late.  You are only pregnant for 9 months.  It seems like forever when you are going through it, but it really isn’t a long time.  I think a maternity session is about the soon to be parents.  This is a time of excitement and anticipation.  Newport has been a big part of Melanie and Mike’s relationship.  They had their engagement photos taken there, the wedding took place there so what better spot for their maternity shoot?  Melanie has been doing a pregnancy exercise boot camp.   I’m truly impressed with this since when I was pregnant the most I did was walk across the house.  Her trainer gave her a pair of sneakers for their new little girl.  I’m so happy she thought to bring them to our session.  It’s a great way to remember the time before the baby and everything that happened leading up to this amazing moment…

2011 Rewind :: Babies – RI Baby Photography

I have two children.  The plan has always been to have two and only two, one boy and one girl.  Luckily the plan worked, but sometimes I have moments when I am going to miss not having another baby.  This is where all your babies come in!  I just love being around your babies!  During a portrait shoot you are probably a little annoyed that the little bugger has been smiling at everything all morning and now that the camera is in front of them they decided to be “so serious”.  Meanwhile I’m so happy just hear them make funny noises or watch them marvel at a piece of grass or maybe a rock.  Being around your babies helps me get past those feelings about missing out on having another one.  It takes the edge off, so to speak.

So thank you, Babies of 2011, for giving me my baby fix and just for being so darn cute!  Tomorrow it’s that dirty word that starts with a T – Toddlers AKA 2 year olds!!

Baby Sarah in Newport, RI – RI Baby Photographer

About a year ago I had the pleasure of photographing Jen and Brad’s wedding at Castle Hill in Newport, RI.  This year I headed to Castle Hill to see them again, but this time to photograph their beautiful baby girl, Sarah!  She was just about a month old.  I don’t think I’ve ever photographed a baby this age who loved the camera more than Sarah.  She was mesmerized by it, always staring right into my lens and even smiling.  Add the cuteness and it made my job way too easy!

She has good-looking parents so that always helps.

See what I mean?  Absolutely loving the camera!

I love her expressions in these two pictures.

I couldn’t pick a favorite between the next three photos so I’m posting them all.  They are all too cute to not share.

Alexander’s First Birthday Portrait Part Two – RI Baby Photographer

Today is officially Alexander’s first birthday!  What better time to post the second half of his first birthday pictures?!  We pretty much scheduled this portrait around whether or not these daffodils had bloomed.  My father in law is a professor at Salve Regina.  He was on daffodil lookout for us!  A big thanks to him because we might have missed out on this awesome location!

I’ve done some engagement pictures in this same spot, but really this location was made for a little baby!  Adults are just too big to get the full effect.

Time for some sweets!  Alex was more interested in the candle at first…

obviously that didnt’ last long.

His mind is blown!
