Brothers Birthday Portrait in Providence – RI Children Photography

Just stop with the cuteness, Boys!! I mean really. There were several times in the course of this portrait that I had to stop and reassure Mom and Dad that these might be the cutest photos ever taken. Watching these guys interact with each other was truly an adorable sight.  They have birthdays that are pretty close so we are able to do their birthday portraits all in one sitting.  This is the third time I’ve taken their photos and it’s been a treat every time.  Mom always picks out the best outfits.  She didn’t disappoint this time!  Those hats are to die for!

Brother and Sister Birthday Portrait Session

I first met Alex when he was three months old. We did photos in this exact same location. He was a little lump in his parents’ arms. Three years later here we are again for his third birthday portraits! Now he is running around, talking, and holding my hand (melted my heart!). Yes, Alex did grow up a bit, but there is one other big change that has happened. He now has a little sister who is just turning one year old!  I say it all the time because it really is my favorite part of my job…  What an honor it is to be able to capture these photos of a family that is growing (in years and quantity).  It really is something that means a lot to me and I can’t say thank you enough.  I know mom and dad once mentioned that they’d like to have four kids!  If that still is the plan we will have to come back to this spot with the entire clan when they get here!

Family Portrait in Providence, RI – RI Family Portrait Photography

The fall is such a great time for family photos! This family opted on going to Prospect Park in Providence. This is where Mom and Dad got engaged so it’s perfect! We got to take a mix of photos in the park and some in front of the old houses in the neighborhood. These guys are actually old classmates of mine so getting to see them is always a bonus for me. Their youngest son, Carter, is sort of a maniac. I can say that because my son is exactly the same! I still say we should put them in a room together and see what happens!  Thankfully we got Carter to take a break from his running and throwing leaves (my idea!  Oops!) to snap a couple of pictures.

Family Portrait in Providence, RI – RI Family Portrait Photography

How awesome is it when you go to take a picture of someone and you see them “web slinging” in your direction? I will tell you that I think it’s pretty cool. Robby likes Spiderman and he was not afraid to show it while posing for photos. I’m so happy that Mom and Dad didn’t tell him to stop it. This is who he is at this age so why not capture it in the photos? It also adds some personality to the pictures. When Stella tried to do her own spiderman hand gesture Robby did put the kabosh on that. When she wasn’t teasing her brother she was being the cutest little girl ever, playing shy. Very adorable! I do get jealous of some of my family portraits and make plans to bring my own kids to certain locations. This session definitely qualifies as one of those…

Love the personality in these pictures!

2011 Rewind :: Preschoolers and Big Kids – RI Portrait Photography

My final rewind post and my final post of 2011!  What an amazing, amazing year!  I can’t wait for 2012 – to meet new familes and to see everyone again.  2012 is going to be a big year for new siblings!  Four of my families are expecting a new baby this year!!  I can’t wait to meet the little ladies and gents!

This last batch of photos includes some of my favorites kids and photos.  Older kids can be a little intimidating because if they don’t like you…  well you know it!  They have hit a point of self awareness.  Now all of a sudden they have opinions on what they want to do for the pictures and how they want to look.  I love it when they can have some fun with me – when they say “Take a picture of this!” and do something pretty ridiculous.  In this post is a family I’ve done pictures for around 6 times now!  They love pictures, my kind of family!  I love my sassy rockstar with her tinsel star backdrop.  The one’s in her roller skates are awesome!  A lot of these kids’ parents were my friends in high school.  My daughter also makes an appearance in this one.  She is sitting on ledge in front of the roll up grate.  Speaking of my little girl this post features her best friend from birth, her best friend from Gymboree and her best friend for school.  She is a lucky girl to have so many buddies.  Putting these posts together has made me feel lucky as well.  Thanks for letting me photograph what you love the most – your families!  Happy New Year!
